MEDICINAL CANNABIS

Traveling to the United States with medicinal cannabis is strictly prohibited under any circumstances.

Passengers authorized by Health Canada to transport medicinal cannabis (marijuana) must present legal documentation authorizing possession if the quantity of medicinal cannabis transported appears to exceed the legal limit for recreational cannabis (30 grams). The standard procedure provides in particular that screening officers from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) can call local authorities to verify the validity of these documents. This process can take significantly longer than usual checks, because depending on the airport, the authorities contacted may not be on site. We therefore suggest that passengers allow extra time for security checks when traveling with medicinal cannabis in quantities that exceed the legal limit for recreational cannabis.

Chrono Aviation is not responsible for any delays that these additional checks may cause and will therefore not compensate passengers if they miss their flight.

CANNABIS FOR RECREATIONAL USE

Canada’s Cannabis Act came into force on October 17, 2018. It remains illegal to travel to the United States or other countries with cannabis (marijuana) and products containing cannabis, whether or not you are traveling departing from or destined for a country or state where consumption is permitted by law.

People traveling to Canada can transport cannabis within the personal possession limits set by law (up to 30 grams). These limits depend on the requirements that may be imposed by the authorities. If you are traveling to Canada, it is your responsibility to find out about the laws in force in the province you are traveling to. Chrono Aviation reserves the right to search baggage deemed questionable during check-in. Please note that Chrono Aviation is in no way equipped to carry out weighing before boarding. It is therefore mandatory that the cannabis be in its original packaging and sealed in order to be able to confirm the quantity listed on the packaging.

Due to the internal regulations of certain customers, it is also possible that the transport of cannabis is prohibited by them. Each company chartering a flight with Chrono Aviation should inform their employes of their company’s internal regulations. In addition, provide the contact details of a contact person with whom Chrono Aviation will communicate in the event of doubt or the need to obtain additional information.

Cannabis must be declared when the passenger checks in. Cannabis must be stored in carry-on baggage at all times and cannot be consumed, rolled around or otherwise exposed to other passengers at any time.
